Waza; Print Meisters and Their Works

=Action of the Accomplished Artists=

A kanji "伎" symbolizes this exhibition.

"伎" is used in a word kabuki (歌舞伎: song-dance-technique), to describe the traditional form of Japanese theater.

We looked up the meaning of this Chinese character in multiple dictionaries... Its basic meaning is "technique / skill," which denotes "accomplished artist." It also connotes the essence of the character, "play” which then implies "humor" and "pleasure / entertainment." It means "companion" in addition.

This exhibition is held by 11 Print-Artists.

Nowadays, "Interpretation of the Print" has expanded significantly, from the basic images of "Duplication / Transposing / Indirect" actions of "Make a plate and then transfer / copy to the medium" to spreading images of "Communication / Share" by "Recording sounds and pictures" and, furthermore, "Engraving on one’s memory."

This exhibition is a feast of “伎,” unique to Printmakers, that would engrave the leap in the taste of “Prints” which interposes and mediates the action of "Make a Plate for Print."

Please enjoy our virtuosity of “Pleasant / Entertaining” space… and air.
